Ankara, Jul 2 (Prensa Latina) The Turkish minister for Foreign Relations, Ahmet Davutoglu, said today that he asked the United States secretary of State, John Kerry, to explain the alleged espionage activities that were revealed and affect Turkish agencies.
"I asked Kerry to explain the subject related to the scandal of espionage and he answered that they have limited information about it, but they will share the data with us as soon as the work is completed", said Davutoglu, who was quoted by local media.
In statements to the press during a meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, held in Brunei, the foreign minister said that those activities should not be carried out between allies like United States, Turkey and the European Union (EU).
"We will assess the situation once we receive the explanation and information from United States, however, we discussed the issue with Kerry in a friendly way", he said.
During the weekend the German magazine Der Spiegel published US top secret documents related to the interception of telephone and email messages of EU agencies in Washington and of other countries from the continent as well.
The response of the regional bloc and the countries affected was expressed with concern, considering it a very serious issue and demanded United States to explain it.
